outside of boston: martha's vineyard
The minute I get on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, something amazing washes over me - releif. The pace on Martha's Vineyard in summer is ideal to me. Lazy mornings, laissez faire days and anything goes evenings. Each town has its own identity and the seafood is plenty. My friends and I started a tradition to go every summer - it's wonderful. Drive down Friday, take the ferry, buy a 3 day bus pass, stay at a cabin in the campground, eat plenty of seafood, hit the beach, shop (more on this later), make friends and explore. It's a lot easier than you think! And the perfect summer memory maker...
